Finnish Quality, Exceptional Price

I bought four of these for my 2011 BMW 328i in 225 45 17. I replaced tires that cost considerably more and I must say I'm happier with the Nokian brand. Notably, the handling is superb and the noise minimal. I live in Portland, Oregon where it rains constantly and the roads are fairly poor. Despite these conditions, the Nokian tires are holding up well. On a side note, this company needs to do a better job advertising the fact that these are designed and sold by a company in Finland. Most US consumers, like the Nokia mobile phones of old, confuse this brand with some generic Japanese company they've never heard of. If people were to understand this product comes from Scandinavia, sales would improve greatly here in the States.

    Tires for Mazda MX-5 Club

Not my daily drive but still put lots of miles on the car year round (+2k month). Tires I have used on the car in past have been the stock Bridgestone S001 and BFG Comp-2 A/S. Selected this Nokian tire after price/performance comparisons and feel pretty good about my choice. Approaching 1k on new tires and can say without hesitation they handle just as well as the BFG's and are much quieter than the Bridgestone's. The Nokian's seem to deliver an assuring grip yet have a light feel/lowresistance when rolling along at highway speeds. No noticeable sidewall flex at sport-touring pace. Have not encountered wet-pavement conditions so cannot comment on that aspect of performance. Two thumbs up at this point! "Good" rating can move to "Excellent" depending on rain capabilities.

      Excellent All Season Performance Tire

I have now owned these tires beyond 5000 miles on a 1998 BMW 740i driven fairly hard. In that time I have been surprised at how well the tires handle in dry conditions. They are as good as any summer tire I have driven and much much better than the Bridgestone Turanza tires I took off the car after a massive sidewall blow out. The Nokian ZLine A/S are quieter, softer riding but have a distinctive performance edge over the Bridgestone tires. I have not had to drive much in wet conditions so I cannot comment on them there. I was out in the ice/snow where they were noticably worse than the Nokian winter tires I use in winter conditions. I feel like they are a tire which leans towards dry conditions and away from winter conditions despite being sold as an all season tire. I would note that my car is a big and heavy car (4500 pounds) but the ride did not seem either harsh or mushy as some tires do when faced with a heavy car like this under performance driving. They break loose predictably and not suddenly as some tires do. I do not think you will be disappointed if you are looking for a dry road tire where I gladly give them a 5 star. Under snow/ice I would only rate them 3 stars. Nothing handles winter conditions like a real winter tire though so you have to limit your expectations when buying a tire for all seasons.

Installed on an '06 Mustang GT

I recently installed a set of these on my son's Mustang GT as a replacement to a Nitto tire. He had just purchased this car over summer vacation as his new(er) university car, and the tires it came with were not up to my specs. I'm a tire geek in all honesty and, since they were going on my son's car, I wanted to go with a top-tier/level 1 brand. So I did. I've had previous experience with Nokian winter tires (best in the world!), and thought that I'd try the zLine in a 255/35-20 size on his vehicle. Want to know the bonus part? I found them for $77 EACH. No kidding! A full set for $308?! Can't pass that up. Had them mounted and balanced at my Ford dealer (they took very little weight, too), and so far they've been superb. He just had them rotated, too, at their first 5000 miles of use - all is well, no abnormal wear noted, so everyone's happy. They ride very smooth and quiet (the only quiet aspect about this car - muffler delete package on it...); predictable handling; handle the power and torque this car puts out (a few mods...); look fantastic on the American Muscle rims. Car resides in Arizona for the school year and the Pacific Northwest in summer, so there are some temperature extremes these tires will be going through. I'm not worried. Great product.

I bought this nokian z line a/s for my 2010 scion xb. I replaced my noisy and rough riding firestone. At first I am skeptical about the brand but after I did my research and some people recommending the brand, I decided to try this. I also checked consumer reports and nokian is one of the top 5 picks of best tire brand. On my initial experience with the tires: it absorbs bumps, quieter than my last tires (and its not worn out) and comfortable. The only drawback on this tires with 50 series height: no rim guard. They should have put it because 50 series height is still a bit low. The handling is a bit dull. Overall, it is a nice tire for the price.

I've been running a set of A/S 215/45/18's on my 2006 Mazda 6 Sportwagon for about 18 months. When I had them mounted, the tech looked me up to tell me how little balancing was required. Always a good sign. From day one to now with 29 thousand miles and in the process of their second NE Ohio winter, they have been excellent! And still have plenty of tread too! Smooth, great traction, quiet and (in my opinion) attractive. These are premium tires at at a VERY fair price.

Way too soft for a performance tire

After reading some reviews, specifically comparing them favorably to the Continental Contact Extreme, which is what these are replacing, I just put these on my 2016 VW Golf R on an 18" wheel (225/40/18). The short review is, they are a big disappointment. Steering response is very slow, with a pronounced lag between steering input and when the car reacts. Worse yet, the front reacts, then the back comes around sometime later, so the car feels like it's going sideways for a bit when jerking the wheel above 25 mph. They also produce a noticeable growl, which I can live with, but it's on the loud side. Dry traction seems OK, and I can't comment on wet or snow yet, but that doesn't matter as much to me as I'm not going to be doing any "spirited" driving in the wet or snow. The bottom line is, these tires have soft sidewalls and belong in the class of touring tire, As a result, the straight line ride is smoother and quieter over bumps, but it also feels a bit "squishy". They are not a high performance handling tire.

We've had these tires on for approx. 8k miles and I'm beside myself! We've had the tires balanced 3 times. The last time even spun them 180 degrees on the wheels thinking it may help seat the tires more concentrically. Well... it's unfortunate that we couldn't remedy the vibration issues! The vibration comes and goes in the oddest way. Some times it shows up around 60, sometimes around 70. I can't put my finger on it! I've been around many tires in my day. I've not experienced this type of behavior previously and it's very annoying! I get a vibration in the steering wheel (front tire) then I'll have a vibration in the seat (rear tire). If Nokian would like an opportunity to teach me something about your technology, I'm all ears! Maybe let's try out the WR G4's! These 255/35r19's are on a 2014 Audi A4 Quattro on stock wheels. I took off Continental DWS's because of noise, not vibrations, at 24k miles. These are exhibiting noise as well as vibrations at 8k miles. Not impressed! Ball is in your court, to impress!

I upgraded my 2012 Mercedes S-Class from 18 to 20" rims. The car had factory Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ Plus P255/45ZR18 Tires with 5-6/32 tread remaining. These tires are $850 a set but the Nokian's are a much better value. Although 20", these ride BETTER and are QUIETER.
