Loud tires

Mississauga0909 • 15 months ago

Because of availability Kals sold me these instead of the WR G4 tires I purchased previously. I find the Solstice very loud, especially when turning. I’ve had them for about 2 years now. When I go in next time I’ll see if Kal has another choice? But they are good in the snow. Prefer previous set of WR's Kal’s sold me.

Best all weather tire I’ve had tried

Jax • 18 months ago

I wanted a different brand for my SUV. The dealer recommended these tires and so I wanted to try it. Two months ago on a trip to B.C. drove through rough roads and rivers for backcountry camping. Kind of a noisy drive on some parts of a highway. I have yet to see it’s performance this winter( that will be another review). Great when breaking so all in all I am satisfied with my purchase .

Far inferior to the Nokian WRG's

usernamehere • 23 months ago

I have had two sets of WRG3's. I told the dealer that if he can't find me WRG3's to get me a pair of WRG4's as those recently released at the time. Instead, he brought back the Nordman Solstice and right when I started driving, I immediately knew I was going to regret not going back and yelling at him for not getting the tire I wanted. I've driven these Solstices for a season and will always choose the WRG series over these. Even though there's a gigantic portion of life left in them, I am for sure going to get rid of them and buy a set of WRG4's at the end of September.

Decent Tire

Jjo1772 • 24 months ago

Running this tire on AWD 2012 Toyota Sienna. The tire is ok. It's a bit soft and doesn’t wear terribly well (not very durable). It can handle all types of weather but doesn’t excel at anything in particular other than allowing all season use. If you live where you get snow, and don’t want to switch tires for the season, these are worth considering.

TREAD CONFIDENTLY THANKS TO OUR TAILORED TIRE DESIGN

The Nordman Solstice puts your safety first, no matter your vehicle. The passenger version of the tire has an asymmetric tread pattern that balances wet and snow performance. The SUV tire benefits from a directional tread pattern that helps heavy vehicles thrive in all conditions. As with all Nokian Tyres all-weather products, both versions of the tire have special tread compounds that remain responsive to the road in any temperature.

ALL SEASON OR ALL WEATHER TIRES?

What's the difference between all season tires and all weather tires, and which type is safest for your needs and climate conditions? Our Tire Buying Guide will steer you in the right direction!

Snow Claws

Extreme Winter Grip

Snow claws designed on the longitudinal and diagonal grooves of the tire’s tread blocks ensure exceptional winter grip. The snow claws grip the road surface when driving in soft snow and other soft terrain types, providing sturdy grip on snow and ice.

Groove Lifts

Stable and Controlled Progress

In unpredictable road conditions, it is especially important to have the tire behave in a controlled and logical manner while driving. Groove lifts help the tire behave in a stable and controlled manner on dry roads, and they help prevent small rocks from becoming wedged in the tire’s grooves.

Silent Groove Design

Comfortable Driving

Silent Groove Design reduces noise levels inside and outside the vehicle, making driving pleasantly quiet. The grooves also reduce air resistance, which cools the surface of the tire and helps it resist wear.

DRIVING SAFETY INDICATOR

Move Forward With Certainty

Nokian Tyres’ patented Driving Safety Indicator tells drivers how much tread remains on each tire. Numbers located on the tire’s tread belt indicate remaining groove depth and help drivers understand when it’s time for a change.
