After some extensive search for winter tires, more for cold and extended wet conditions at Seattle.. nokian tires stood out. I recently picked the wrg3 suv for my subaru, and boy.. what a transformation! Never felt this confident driving through wet conditions. My outback feels well planted and steered like in dry roads even in soaking wet conditions. However the tires feels firmer going through bumps... but this is a relatively smaller issue for the huge jump in vehicle handling characteristcs even in poor weather conditions. Last but not the least, keeping my outback straight on oem tires was challenge with constant steering adjustments, however on my wrg3 the car steers straight with no additional change. Simply put, if need a dependable high performance winter tires, then WRG3 SUV will not disappoint. Thank you Nokian for make such good quality tires.

This is my 3rd set of Nokians on my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland (Hemi with Quadra Drive II). Had 2 sets of the WRG2 SUV's prior and put a set of the WRG3's on this winter. Simply an amazing tire in the snow. I ski every weekend and do a lot of driving in Northern Maine all winter. These tires are nothing short of superior. I had considered running a dedicated snow, but after I did the math and found out that I was getting 55Kish miles of spirited driving out of these, along with a comfortable & predictable ride in the summer, there was no reason for me to look at anything other than these tires. We just recently bought an Audi Q5 for my wife, once the stock tires are toast, I'll be putting a set of these on.

Wasn't a believer of Nokian brand tires ever since and it just wasn't as famous as some of the other heavily-marketed tire brands. But after having tire services done at Kal-tire here in Canada where we get some of the harshest and coldest winters I stumbled upon and heard the Nokian all-weather tires. After extensive research online I decided to replace the 5yr old OEM Pirelli Scorpion Zero all season tires on my Volvo XC60 T6 AWD over a week ago. Now I am a true believer as the WRG3 SUV tires made my already safe crossover even more safe especially during this winter. We recently had a 5-10cm of snow over the weekend and I got to test them further and simply amazing tires as they grip like crazy on snow and ice. I have never been stuck using the old all seasons but felt they didn't have enough grip when stopping on ice and TC would sometimes kick in despite having AWD but these WRG3s are beasts! I didn't want the dedicated winter set due to the hassle of the changeover during spring and fall so decided on the all weathers and am now glad I did! Was so impressed with these that I decided to replace my 5yr old set of winters on my other car (hybrid) that I installed a set of brand new Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2s last weekend! Those tires are also amazing and IMO the best winter tires in the world! Trust me as I have had experience with other brands of winter tires and been driving for several years and do a lot of driving all year round especially during winter!

I've owned my WRG3 SUV's for about a month and I'm extremely impressed. Great on dry pavement, grips extremely well in wet weather and handled superbly in the snow & ice this weekend. I felt safe with these tires on my Escape. Highly recommend the WRG3 SUV tires.

Had a set installed and two hours later I was driving through the East Coast's Thanksgiving storm with numerous cars off the road. Even before the snow started coming down the tires made my CR-V handle better. Terrific tires.

I own a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit that came with stock Goodyear tires. I used them through one winter and decided I wanted more grip in snow, ice and rain. I researched all the tire companies and found Nokian WRG-3 tires. The tires have met or exceeded my expectations. I have driven them in light and deep snow, rain, hit puddles at 60MPH, and light ice and they have not disappointed. In addition, they are quiet. I have driven them for the past 6 months now putting about 6000 miles on them. One of the great features is that this is a year round tire. In my research I came across no other tire that met the "mountain snowflake designation" and still could be used year round and fit on my Jeep. The depth of the tire is 10/32 (not the 12/32 shown on some websites) I have not had it long enough to judge wear. You will see a slight decrease 1-2 MPG decrease compared to the Goodyear tires but it is worth it in the added capabilities the tire has. I would definitely buy this tire again!

After extensive research, to include evaluating the choices made by a national consumer research group and calling Nokian Headquarters (North America). The WRG3 was the clear and really only choice for great performance in winter conditions and still be able to use year round. No other product, that I could find, comes close. Not a large marketing budget for Nokian tires either. I literally stumbled over the brand.

I went thru a lot to get these tires. I needed a odd size (265/50/20) and there are only 2 manufactures that made the size with the "snowflake" symbol. I decided the Nokian WRG3 SUV was what i wanted. because KalTire is the only Canadian dealer for Nokian, my choices were limited as to where to buy. KalTire was NO help and I had to contact Nokian directly to have the tires shipped to KalTire on my behalf. KalTire was a HUGH dispointment and I would suggest Nokian should reconsider there aggreament with KalTire and consider other Canadian dealers for there tires. The tires are amazing. looks great and performes well. I installed the tires (not at KalTire) and drove from Vancouver, BC to Las Vegas, NV and back. 7500km total distance over 4 weeks. The WRG3's were quite on the highways @ 70-80mph. Lots of traction on the desert back roads surrouding Las Vegas and Logendale. found myself crossing a few cross-ditches and up a couple hills with loose rock...no problem. The SUV, a 2006 Range Rover, is AWD and it takes a lot to make the wheels spin anyway, but these tires were amazing and have lots of grip on the Vegas rocks and 40ºC OAT! If Nokian still makes this tire in my size 4-5 years from now...i'll be getting them again.

It's still early days (a couple of weeks) with these tires for me, but I am extremely pleased with them thus far over the Conti 4x4 stock tires. At 19k and having regularly rotated I still had plenty of life on the Contis, but tore chunks out of two sidewalls from the stock Contis on rocks from some dodgy driving through rocks on my part...so my fault for that. I was, however, never pleased with the Contis with how quickly they were wearing down and their so-so wet weather performance. I live in Florida, but the LR4 is going to see some snow this year during driving trips up north so I decided to swap in these Nokian WRG3s. For those of you with 19s on the LR4, you know that rim size is a difficult size as options are limited. Thus far I am really impressed with these Nokians. In comparison, they're smoother riding and (surprisingly) quieter than the Contis ever were. They are proving real performers at highway speeds and in Florida torrential downpour rain. The sidewall has a nice look IMHO. I have high hopes for this being my go-to tire for regular and unimproved road driving in rain and in snow. I'll return and share further information once I have more miles on them. Given the lack of options, If I were Nokian I would be advertising these to LR4 owners, cause my early experience paired with what I've heard with friends that have had them longer, they're likely to love them.

I drive a 2012 gmc terrain in northern maine, my driveway is 340 ft long 16% grade that leads directly to 50 mph traffic. When I decided to buy tires for the first winter with this suv, it really does matter. I never would have considered a studless tire without reading the reviews online about this tire. Plus now the added benifit of using them year round. I am very happy I tried these and have used them for over a year now. This is the only tire I will ever consider purchasing for life. Tired of fall-spring tire swaps.

Bought these tires for my Toyota Highlander and can't believe how well they handle the northern Ontario winters. Especially on warm days when the roads become slick with wet snow, the nokian wrg3 SUV's perform at their best. You have great control in the corners and never spin out at intersections or while climbing up hills. They also perform very well on back roads with unplowed deep snow. Overall best set of tires I have ever bought.

Recently bought a used 2008 TrailBlazer fitted with these wonders - Came back to Canada in the winter and had to get used to driving in snow again, these shoes made the transition easy. Grab well in all conditions, even have reasonable traction on icy northern Alberta roads. They love the snow, gaining traction with minimal slipping and keeping me on the road. Slush is not a worry as it get squirted out the sides like an overstuffed doughnut. Admirable performance in dry or near dry conditions. For a tire brand I've never heard of I would have no hesitation buying them as a replacement tire when the current ones on my truck wear out

I live in Minnesota. I absolutely loved the Nokian WRG2s on my Honda Pilot. So much that I put WRG3s on my BMW 328xi: I couldn't wait til my stock Continentals ran out (amazing but wanted the Nokian winter edge). Now I'm almost regretting it. A very different experience: not as good winter bite as the WRG2, harder compound and harsher ride than both the WRG2 and the Conti ProContact SSRs these replaced, and the soft sidewalls make for a lot of bouncing with grades and turning. It seems like they went with a slightly harder compound and gave up winter traction for improved wet traction and hydro planing resistance (but kept the soft sidewalls that bow out on all Nokian tires). In sure the harder compound also results in longer lifespan, which the North American market is conditioned to expect from passenger all seasons. Thinking of replacing these with Mich Premiers or going back to Continental (Pure Contact). I've read that Nokian recommends 3 psi higher than OEM reco air pressures in winter, but the tires feel like they might need to go up in warmer weather as well. I don't know if it has anything to do with vehicle weight, as in the BMW might be too light for the tires to be composed...

In our coastal Pacific North West climate, we only have snow in the lower elevations a few times a year, but being an avid telemark skier, I try to get to higher elevations as often as possible whenever we have snow up there, so needed to find a capable winter tire that could be driven all year, because I did not want the expense and hassle of buying extra wheels and TPMS units for a second set of winter tires and much of my driving is not on snow, but still I may need them often during the 7 months when there is snow somewhere I want to go. Extensive research on this type of winter-biased all season tire resulted in this tire being the only reasonable choice available. Kind of pricey, and we have no local dealers, so had to order them online. Even considering these downsides, these tires are very impressive. Have taken my Subaru up to the highest accessible local elevations 6 times since i got them a month or so ago, and they have turned my '15 Forester XT into a seemingly unstoppable beast in deep snow, packed icy wet snow, crusty deep snow, even on steep grades and some ice. They handle great in dry and wet, and seem very secure in situations where hydroplaning could be a hazard. They are not noticeably noisier than the original equipment Bridgstone Duelers, and are far superior in all ways. Have not noticed a reduction in gas mileage. With only about 600 miles on them it's hard to say how they will do when half worn, but so far they exceed all my expectations, and I am very pleased with this choice. One other downside, one that does annoy me, is that I am not to be allowed to do my own tire rotations without losing my warranty coverage. These are especially simple on these directional type tires and I prefer to do my own to make sure they are done correctly, and to inspect for any tire wear irregularities, and wheel or brake problems.

I bought these tires for my 2014 Ford Escape 2.0 SEL 4X4, and we here in Southern Ontario just received our First "Real" Winter Blast, with about a foot of snow over the last 24 hours, but before the Snow came, We had a day of Rain that froze beneath the dump of Snow and froze,. Every year at the first big snowfall I usually take my car and find a large empty parking lot, and put the car through it's paces to see what it's capabilities are. Well when I went out I was extremely impressed with these "All-Weather" Nokian offerings, I did everything Drove fast & Slammed on the brakes to check my stopping distance, Swerving, Doing Donuts, everything I could think of, and I was very proud in my decision in buying these tires, Then I hit the Ice under the Snow, and Spun right out, like I had regular "All-Seasons" on, That was something I totally did not expect, It sort of left me feeling a little let down, But then I realized that "Hey, These aren't "Snow Tires" per say",,Just Real Good "All-Seasons", and that I needed to remember that the next time I encounter Ice, I need to take it a little easy. The Tires have Excellent Grip from start to stop, and are very capable in the Snow, No skidding at a Stop, and No spinning when you accellerate. It's just I expected a bit better performance when the car encounters Ice, Especially w/ the car having"Intelligent" 4 wheel drive, and "Traction Control". Other than that I'm very happy with my purchase, and when needed I will buy another set for my Escape.

Did some research before buying these, so I knew that they would be great in the snow. WRG3 SUV tires literally solved the main issue with my car, a Forester XT, that had a stiff and unforgiving ride; so now the ride is compliant and comfy even. They look insanely cool too, with chunky side tread. I'm blown away they are H rated up to 130mph, my car's top speed, which is nice to have, although I'll never go that fast.....means they can withstand a lot of heat. Because it has blocky tread and softer sidewalls than my OEM tires, it can have increased tire noise during acceleration/braking only, but it is not any worse than my worn OEMs. The city/highway noise is quiet. Cornering is good considering the compliant sidewalls, but steering has slightly less feel due to blocky treads. Note, this tire is just as good as any other all season in terms of handling/noise, I'm just comparing it to a purely sport tire that was OEM. This is a good tire alternative to a noisy AT tire or an all season. The ice sipes are also an impressive feature never found in an all season that I know of. This is the tire to get for someone that does not want or need to change over to dedicated snows, and as an added benefit I am seeing a couple mpg increase.

Got the Nokian and they perform beautifully on wet and dry pavement. The run much quiter on the freeway and on recent frosty mornings grip well. Will test them in snow soon but they look like the tred design will spew out the sand, salt and snow mix on the Sea to Sky highway versus the Michellin's that clogged up and weren't useful much below freezing,

Because I live in Portland,OR; driving all winter with dedicated winter tires will be a mistake. However, because I am driving every two weeks thru Mountain Passes with heavy snow, the WRG3 brings me the flexibility of a tire with excellent traction on snow and safety on rain (braking). These tires perform like a dream on snow. Never had an issue on traction even under 10" of Fresh snow and steep climb. However, because of the hard rubber compound, under a temperature of 26 degrees F., these tires will have limited capacity on ice. That's why they are All Weather Tires and not purely Winter Tires.

Bought a set of all weather wrg3 suv for my Acura MDX. I was impressed at how well it performed in the snow (even on steep hills), heavy rain, slush, and dry pavement. It did good on ice (depending on the incline). Taking into consideration, ice on a steep hill will always be a challenge for any set of tires. Where I live, when ice on the hill is extreme, the streets are shut down until conditions improve. The all weather tires definitely out perform all-season tires by 1000 to 1, but will never replace true winter tires or chains. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase. Living in the Pacific Northwest, the weather can change quickly. Always keep in mind to drive safely in hazardous weather conditions, use common sense, and be winter prepared.

Bought these in December to replace all-season Continentals on my 2014 Outback. They work great... Since I bought them we've had the warmest winter in years... hardly any snow. Did get to play with them in a 4-5 inch snow. Work great, a little noisy but not bad. GREAT in heavy rain. Never liked the Contis they didn't handle rain well after 15000 miles. With the great tread design of the WRG3 SUV I don't think I'll have any issue with hydroplaning. We'll see how the Nokians wear, have put 5,000 miles on them another 1000 and I'll rotate.

After much research prior to my winter (February) expedition from the east coast to Alaska, I decided on the Nokian WRG3 SUVs for my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Through the lower 48 we saw "hot" weather (low-high 70s), freezing temperatures (22F was the coldest), rain, snow, hot sun-dried pavement. These tires held up well - performing flawlessly in all conditions. I was concerned that the hot weather would affect the tires and cause excessive wear. I had them checked out when I got to Alaska and they are hardly worn and wore evenly. Once we entered Canada and Alaska we encountered very cold temperatures, snow and ice-covered roads, frost heaves, high winds and less than desirable driving conditions. I was at ease the whole time knowing that I had some of the best winter tires on the Jeep. We had minimal slippage on ice and snow; going steep uphills and downhills with with no problem at all. I pulled the Jeep through a couple areas where the snow was in excess of 6-8 inches and never had any issues with grip. This is both a testimony to the Jeep and to the Nokians; however, I maintain that the traction on ice was most impressive during this trip. Overall we drove 4000 miles through a myriad of conditions and never felt out of control. As long as I have a need, Nokians will remain my "go-to" winter tires.

Rare I write reviews but I was looking for sometime for a tire that wouldn't simply put forth a mud & snow rating with little regard to actual performance. Located in Northern California, Nokian is not a common brand. But the reviews and consumer reports brought me to "special order" the tires for my Lexus RX350 - running 235/55/R19s. I go to the mountains to ski almost every weekend - we get snow out here, lots of it, deep, sloppy and icy in the mornings. It's been about 30 days, so far these tires mastered some tuff conditions without even a hiccup - from ice to a foot of snow - great traction and feel. But also needed a tire that didn't make my nice ride sound like I was running on some heavy duty mud and snow tire. My only concern will be to see how the tires wear in summer conditions here in California. What mileage will I actually get? But for now, I just smile when I'm going to the mountains knowing I've got the best tire on the market. Great value to price I thought as well.

I purchased these to replace the stock tires that came with my new Toyota crossover. I have always been impressed with Nokian tires and very glad to see that one can get the Amarid sidewalls on the WRG3 SUV tire in the United States.
