Enhanced Storage Capacity Enables Nokian Tyres to Satisfy Growing Customer Base

The Scandinavian tire company is pursuing aggressive growth goals in North America, and a new warehouse in the western United States gives it larger storage volume.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – As Nokian Tyres grows its presence in the North American tire market, a new warehouse in the western United States has strengthened the company’s ability to serve its expanding customer base.

The warehouse, located in Salt Lake City, Utah, provides added storage capacity of 40,000 tires and will help supply Nokian Tyres’ western customers. The facility has already allowed the company to achieve new levels of distribution, reaching California, the Northwest and Intermountain areas with next-day delivery.

“As demand for our products grows, we’re scaling our infrastructure to strengthen our ability to serve our customers’ needs,” said Nokian Tyres VP of Sales Tommi Heinonen. “The Salt Lake City warehouse is one of many steps we continue to take to make sure we’re equipped to support our growing customer base.”

That infrastructure investment includes three new warehouses in the past three years (Montreal, Shorewood, Illinois and now Salt Lake City) plus Nokian Tyres’ first production facility in North America, a factory in Dayton, Tennessee that will produce four million tires per year once it reaches full capacity. The Dayton Factory will begin making tires for commercial sale in 2020. The company will build premium all-season and all-weather products at the facility.
