Nokian Tyres North America launches 14 more sizes of eNTYRE

Colchester, Vermont, September 8, 2010: Responding to the overwhelming success of its North American eNTYRE line, Nokian Tyres, Inc. announced today that it has added 14 new sizes of the tire, bringing the total size offering to 40.

Like the 26 existing sizes, these new sizes offer the same great features. The development concept was to provide drivers with ultimate safety, driving comfort and performance, in an environmentally friendly “green” tire.

This premium All-Season tire has excellent wet grip, a smooth and quiet ride, long-wearing tread life and great handling properties. In addition, the eNTYRE provides superior winter grip when compared to other premium All-Season tires. The tires’ low rolling resistance also provides better gas mileage.

eNTYRE features several Nokian tread design innovations including: Cooling Edge technology, which provides better cooling to the hottest part of the tire, improving both handling and durability; 3D Sipes, for improved handling on dry roads and even tire wear; and Polished Grooves, which help expel water and snow from the tire's surface.

The eNTYRE is made of environmentally friendly materials. A long-time leader in “green” tires, in 2005, Nokian was the first tire manufacturer to completely eliminate high-aromatic, or HA, oils from its production processes. The company does not use any carcinogenic chemicals or chemicals classified as toxic (T) in its production processes. The Birch Leaf insignia on the sidewall of Nokian tires guarantees the complete absence of toxic chemicals.

“Feedback from customers about eNTYRE has been very positive. In fact, these new sizes were requested by our dealers,” said Marc Bujold, Business Development Manager for Nokian Tyres. “With the addition of these sizes, we now cover the vast majority of passenger vehicles on the road today,” he added.

eNTYRE products will be available for viewing at the Nokian Tyres booth (#346) at the ITEC show in Cleveland, OH September 21-23.

Molds are in process and first deliveries of the new sizes are expected to arrive in North America in early November. New sizing is as follows:
