Nokian Tyres North America Provides Sponsorship for Meathead Films’ “Work It Out” Ski Movie and its Tour

Colchester, Vermont, November 9, 2010: Nokian Tyres announced an official partnership with the 2010 “Work It Out” movie and tour produced by Meathead Films. The DVD is distributed internationally by VAS Entertainment, as well as digitally on iTunes, and the Meathead Films’ annual tour is one of the largest in the industry with over 60 stops throughout North America.

Filmed extensively in the eastern U.S. and Canada, the film follows the region’s most talented freeskiing athletes to some of the most challenging terrain in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, urban alleyways of Maine, custom park jumps in New Jersey and Vermont, and documents the only cat skiing operation in Eastern North America located in Quebec. Unique highlights of the film include an urban trip to Washington D.C. during the record blizzard of 2010 and the company’s first ever overseas voyage to Hokkaido, Japan.

“As the inventor of winter tires back in 1934, it seemed logical for our North American headquarters in Vermont to sponsor a ski movie and tour as popular and eagerly anticipated as Meathead Films’,” said Marc Bujold, Business Development Manager for Nokian Tyres, Inc. “In addition to our sponsorship, we provided the tour with a number of Nokian goods to raffle, including a new set of winter tires.”

“Many of the skiers in our audience already rely on Nokian tires to get them up to the mountain,” said Chris James, Marketing Director for Meathead Films. “We greatly appreciate the company for supporting our film project and tour and our effort to bring new attention and enthusiasm to eastern skiing.”

Nokian offers a full range of winter tires including the Nokian WR G2 and Hakkapeliitta R, both of which recently received top marks in tests conducted by several international car magazines. The company’s product line also includes a number of all-weather and all-season tires.
