What are the dangers of road dust?

Small particles (particle size PM2.5) give rise to the greatest risk and the most hazardous consequences, particularly in urban areas with the greatest exposure. Sources of small particles include large-scale dispersion of particles, traffic exhaust emissions, burning of wood, industrial emissions, etc. Tires are not a source of small particles.
