I purchased a set of Hakkapeliiitta R3 SUV tires (275/50/R20) to run on a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. We have already had a few large snow storms this season in the Northeast and these tires performed even better than expected. They got me through a 260 mile journey from Connecticut up to Stowe, VT during a blizzard with zero hesitation. Most of the trip was highway travel at 60 mph with 1"-2" of snow on the ground and then through 2 ft of snow to reach my destination. These tires give me confidence and performance I need to drive up to the mountain to catch some fresh powder or to get around town during any condition. As an added bonus they are extremely quiet and have a very comfortable ride. I've run Blizzaks on all my previous vehicles and if the R3's wear at a reasonable rate, I will be making a permanent switch. Im very happy with my purchase.

I bought these in the end of Sept 2018 and had them installed the moment the temps stayed below 45°. While slightly more noisy than my all-season tires, the ride, handling, and comfort were comparable to my all-season tires. They performed well on dry and wet pavement. The winter in West Michigan started off with a bang and these tires quickly went to work carrying me into my northern sales territories. These tires were rock stars. I was not tense while driving. Amazing stopping power, plowed through slush like it wasn’t there, climbed steep snow covered hills without engaging traction control, and had a predictable and controlled breaking point. My main concern was tore wear with as much as I drive but so far they are holding up better than expected. Here at the end of January 2019, we have had a cold snap seeing temps as low as -13° F with wind, ice, and snow. These tires just seem to grab even more the colder and icier it gets. Even my coworkers have noticed the ease at which my vehicle handles the elements with these tires and they demand I drive when we head across state or up north. You can’t put a price on safety and peace of mind. Buy yourself some dedicated Nokian Hakka R3 tyres. You won’t be disappointed.

We live in Quebec, Canada, where winter means lots of snow, slush, ice, and sloppy roads.. -25 to -45 on a regular base. These tires did a great job in any sort of inclement winter weather, performs admirably in braking, acceleration, and cornering in snowy conditions!!

I put four Hakkapelitta R3s (275/45/20) on my 2019 Volvo XC90. I have been very pleased with the way these wide tires handle on Alaska roads thus far this winter. Acceleration, braking, and steering performance is excellent on snow and ice. These chunky tires also look great and the name is fun to say!

They work well on the dry. They are quiet. They have very poor grip on slippery surface, worst than my all seasons. Disappointed.

I am about to buy my second set of these tires (after 80K miles). With rural western Massachusetts winters, a very steep driveway and local mud roads in the spring, I have to be very deliberate about my tires. While there are other good tires out there, I trust these to do everything I need them to. Strongly recommend.

I drive mostly snow and ice pack roads in Muskoka and have never felt the tires lose grip. They feel like you are driving on dry pavement with all seasons they grip so well. When the winter tires need replacing on our other SUV I will definitely be getting these!

I put these (19") tires on my 2012 Lexus Rx450h in Dec 2015, and have them on my car now for their fifth New York (north of NYC) winter. These tires now have approx 26,000 miles on them (about 5000-6000 miles each winter), and the tread depths still look good. However, I noticed that during/after the last snowfall of this current winter season that the tires have lost a little bit of their traction on both the snow and the wet roads once snow began to melt. Even though I know that most would keep them on the car for another winter after this one, I have already decided that I will replace them with the same tire for winter 2020-2021. IMHO, these tires are great for 20,000-25,000 miles. I have no issues with the manner in which they wear, and I always check alignment when putting the snows on the car, and do a wheel alignment when I remove my snows and put my all-seasons on the car (because the all-seasons, currently Michelin Premier LTX, have a tread-warranty). I also rotate every 5000-6000 miles.

Great Tire For Snow and Rainy Ohio

Well in North East Ohio we get hit with lake effect snow here and there but most of the time it's wet roads with below or close to freezing temperatures. Never had an issue losing traction. I have a 2019 Jeep Compass and during it's first snow fall, I took it out on curvy and hilly roads. I engaged the 4WD and drove for a bit and then disengaged it and could not notice a difference! Great tires!

I purchased the R3 SUV's for my Mercedes GLS450 during the snowy Colorado winter of 2019-2020. It has been dumping in the mountains and my previous Duratracs were half worn, noisy & noticeably losing grip on the snow. What a difference! The RS3's are quiet & surefooted on cold, dry pavement and confidence-inspiring on snow packed mountain passes. I hope they wear as well as they perform.
