Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 featured in new polar bear exhibit at Chicago zoo
Walter Family Arctic Tundra now open
CHICAGO – The Hakkapeliitta 8 winter tire from Nokian Tyres is featured alongside a replica polar bear paw in the newly opened Walter Family Arctic Tundra exhibit at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. Zoo goers can now get up close and personal to compare the traction and grip abilities of two of the world’s northern terrain experts, Nokian Tyres and the polar bear.
The Walter Family Arctic Tundra exhibit was strategically designed for polar bears and is equipped with naturalistic features, from an ice cave to rolling terrain to dive pools. The exhibit evokes the northern arctic environment that polar bears in the wild and Nokian Tyres call home.
Like the polar bear’s paw, the Hakkapeliitta 8 provides supreme grip under all winter conditions and quick, responsive steering capabilities. Tested in the relentless conditions of the Finnish Lapland located north of the Arctic Circle, the Nokian Hakkapeliitta 8 much like the polar bear was built to perform in the freezing cold and amidst snow and ice.
