Nokian Tyres Celebrates New Factory Entrance Amidst Continued Growth

DAYTON, Tenn. – Nokian Tyres’ thriving North American production factory has a new entrance that will enable smooth transportation for the growing traffic in and out of the award-winning Dayton, Tennessee campus.

Nokian Tyres Drive opened earlier this month to provide safer travel at the Dayton Factory, which set a monthly production record in April as the company works toward full capacity at the facility. The 3,100-foot entrance road from Highway 27 includes a bridge over the railroad tracks that serve the facility, enabling employees and delivery drivers to enjoy a clearer, more predictable journey to the campus.

“Safety and efficiency are top priorities for us, and Nokian Tyres Drive helps in both of those areas,” said Dayton Factory Operations Director David Korda. “We’re thankful for the state and local partners who worked with us to create this new entrance.”

The project is a result of collaboration between the Tennessee Department of Transportation, officials from Dayton and Rhea County, and Dement Construction. The entrance was included in the agreement that brought Nokian Tyres to Dayton to build the factory, which opened in 2019.

Since those early days, Nokian Tyres has hired approximately 350 team members and made more than a million tires at the factory, and production ramp-up remains on schedule. The company makes many of its most popular all-season and all-weather tires in Dayton. It opened the factory to strengthen its North American product portfolio and reduce delivery lead times to customers.

The Dayton Factory has already earned awards for its sustainability and workplace culture. The LEED v4 Silver-certified production building helped Nokian Tyres win a Tennessee Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award for Sustainable Performance, and the tiremaker won Company of the Year honors from the Chattanooga Regional Manufacturers Association.

With the new entrance, the Dayton Factory now has a new address:

            Nokian Tyres Dayton Factory

            520 Nokian Tyres Drive

            Dayton, TN 37321
