Nokian Tyres Funds Scholarships for Rhea County Students

Nokian Tyres is funding two scholarships that will reward graduating seniors at Rhea County High School who are interested in studying STEM subjects in college. The company is offering two one-time awards of $2,500 each to students who plan to study science, technology, engineering or math at a two- or four-year college. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate a passion for environmental sustainability and have a grade point average of 3.0 or better.

Interested students can apply at myscholarship.app/nokiantyrescholarship. The application deadline is April 15.

“Nokian Tyres is committed to the values of safety and sustainability, and we want to encourage the next generation to pursue those ideals,” said Dayton Factory Operations Director Peter Chia. “We are proud to support education in Rhea County in a variety of ways, including these new scholarships.”

“We are pleased to announce the funding of STEM scholarships by Nokian Tyres for Rhea County High School STEM students,” said Rhea County High School Assistant Principal and Director of Career and Technical Education Sheila Massengill. “We appreciate that Nokian Tyres recognizes the importance of STEM education and is willing to donate scholarship money related to furthering the education of our STEM students. We look forward to a continued working partnership with Nokian Tyres in the coming years.”

The scholarships are part of Nokian Tyres’ Road to Sustainable Success program, which aims to:
